ECSI Training Center Description and Capabilities

Our ECSI Instructors are the core of all medical related training and classes. All DTSAR members are required at a minimum to have Basic Wilderness First Aid and Health Care CPR and re-cert every two years. Members that choose to get their SAR TECH I certification are required to take the Advanced Wilderness First Aid Class and those members that choose to get their SAR TECH II certification are encouraged to obtain Intermediate or Advanced Wilderness First Aid. This training prepares all members to render medical care in all rescue situations.

 

Classes are scheduled upon request from other groups and/or organizations (contact the ECSI Coordinator for group discounts). There is a 10% discount for early registration up to 20 days before the class date. Classes are scheduled yearly as needed check our web site calendar for dates.

ECSI Classes

 

Classes include: Coverage of the 2010 CPR and ECC Guidelines: Clear, concise direction on how to perform CPR and use an AED during an emergency; Current information on injuries and illnesses: Core information for first aiders presented in a clear and straightforward format; Skill Drills: Offer step-by-step explanations and visual summaries of important skills; and Emergency Care Wrap-Up Tables: Provide a concise summary of what signs first aiders should look for and what treatment steps they should take. Current information on injuries and illnesses presented in an easy-to-understand format; Skill sheets providing step-by-step visual reviews of procedures discussed; Flow charts reinforcing the decision-making process and appropriate procedures; Decision tables provide a concise summary of what signs first aiders should look for and what treatment steps they should take.
